Jean Cormier's Bio.

Jean graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BFA in 1973, majoring in Communications and Design with a minor in Art History, and has been a full-time resident of Sebring since 1979.

After retiring in 2010, Jean became involved with various art groups and is a member of Ridge Art Association, Lakeland Art Association , Art Center Manatee, Oil Painters of America and the Highlands Art League where she serves as a Board Member.    Some of her current work is on display at RPFunding Center (Lakeland), the Winter Haven Airport, the Winter Haven City Hall, Art Center Manatee (Bradenton) as well as the HAL Members Gallery in Sebring.  Past venues include the Melvin Gallery (Lakeland), The City Arts Factory (Orlando) and Polk Museum of Art.

Jean prefers representational art and rarely is there a painting or drawing not infused with a bit of humor.    She has won numerous awards both nationally and internationally and her work has been included for publication in AcrylicWorks8 as well as other magazines and venues.

Jean draws inspiration from creation—people and animals-and “sees what isn't there” and paints or draws it.”
