Florida Women Photographers Group 2026 Exhibition:  "She Who Tells a Story"

The Highlands Art League is pleased to invite members of the Florida Women Photographers Group to submit original photographic work for exhibition in our upcoming juried show, "She Who Tells a Story".
This exhibition celebrates the creativity, vision, and artistic excellence of women photographers throughout Florida while exploring the power of visual storytelling through photographic imagery.

Exhibition: “She Who Tells a Story”
The Highlands Art League is pleased to invite members of the Florida Women
Photographers Group to submit original photographic work for exhibition in our
upcoming juried show, She Who Tells a Story.
This exhibition celebrates the creativity, vision, and artistic excellence of women
photographers throughout Florida while exploring the power of visual storytelling
through photographic imagery.


ELIGIBILITY
• Open only to current members of the Florida Women Photographers Group.
• Artists must be 18 years of age or older.
• All work must be original and created solely by the entering artist.
• No AI-generated imagery or AI-assisted imagery is permitted.
• Artwork previously receiving an award at this venue is not eligible.
• Entries must comply with all rules, regulations, and restrictions outlined in
this prospectus.


ACCEPTED MEDIA
• Photography in all traditional and contemporary photographic processes.
• Digital adjustments are acceptable.
• No artwork incorporating AI-generated imagery, generative fill, or synthetic
image creation technologies will be accepted.


AWARDS
Awards totaling $1,175 will be presented:
• First Place — $400
• Second Place — $300
• Third Place — $200
• Merit Award — $75
• Three Honorable Mentions — $50 each
The juror’s decisions are final.


REGISTRATION AND ENTRY PROCEDURE
Online registration and payment through the Highlands Art League website is
required for participation.

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE
SUBMITTING IMAGES VIA EMAIL.
Substitutions or changes may not be made once artwork has been submitted for
entry.


ENTRY FEES
$25 for one artwork
$40 for up to three artworks
Entry fees are non-refundable.


Image Submission
After registration and payment of entry fees, images of the entered artwork
must be submitted digitally to:

IMPORTANT: THIS EMAIL IS FOR IMAGE SUBMISSION ONLY.
Digital images must follow the image titling guidelines and must be titled as
follows:
LastName-FirstName_Image-Title
Example:
Smith-Jane_Morning-Light
Failure to properly title images may result in delayed processing of entries
or disqualification.
Artists are responsible for ensuring submitted digital images accurately
represent the artwork entered into the exhibition.


ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
• Maximum artwork size: 36 inches in any direction, including frame.
• Maximum weight: 25 pounds.
• All artwork must be professionally presented and ready for display.
• Artwork over 18 inches must be covered with acrylic/Plexiglas only. No glass
permitted on works over 18".
• All framed work must have secure hanging wire and professional hanging
hardware.
• Sawtooth hangers are not permitted.
• Canvas wraps must have finished edges and be gallery-quality in presentation.
• Poorly framed, unstable, unsafe, or improperly wired work will not be accepted.
• Artwork accepted into the exhibit must substantially match the digital image
submitted during the entry process.


IMPORTANT DATES
Registration/Payment Deadline: Midnight, July 17, 2026 .
Registration/payment is online only .
Notification of Acceptance: Notification via email by August 10th.


In-Person Artwork Receiving Dates:
At 1971 Lakeview Drive, Sebring, FL
• Monday, August 31 — 11 AM–4 PM
• Saturday, September 5 — 11 AM–4 PM


Shipping Deadline
Shipped artwork must be received by Wednesday, September 9th. See Shipping
Information for instructions.


Opening Reception and Awards Presentation
Sunday, September 20 — 3 PM–5 PM
Exhibit Closes: Friday October 30


Pick-Up Dates
• Saturday, October 31 and Monday November 2 — 11 AM–4 PM


SHIPPING INFORMATION
SHIPPED ARTWORK MUST BE RECEIVED BY WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER
9TH.

• Include prepaid return shipping label and reusable packaging.
• Artwork shipped without return arrangements may not be returned.
• The sponsoring organization is not responsible for damage resulting from
inadequate packaging.


SALES
All artwork must be available for sale unless otherwise approved by the
exhibition committee.
A commission of 35% will be retained by the hosting organization on all
sales. Please price your work accordingly.
The hosting organization will collect and remit all applicable Florida sales

tax on artwork sales.


PICK-UP POLICY

Artwork must be picked up on the published pick-up dates unless prior arrangements have been made with the Executive Director.

Artwork not picked up within 30 days of the final published pick-up date will be considered a donation to the art league.

LIABILITY:  All reasonable care will be taken in handling artwork.  However, submission of artwork constitutes agreement that the artist assumes all responsibility for loss or damage incurred before, during, or after the exhibition.  Artists are encouraged to insure their work.

RIGHTS AND REPRODUCTIONS

Submission of artwork grants the sponsoring organization permission to photograph and reproduce

accepted work for promotional, educational, catalog, website, and social media purposes with artist credit.

Artists retain all copyrights to their artwork.

AGREEMENT

Submission to this exhibition constitutes acceptance of all rules and conditions outlined in this prospectus.

The exhibition committee reserves the right to refuse any work that does not conform to the prospectus requirements or differs substantially from submitted images.
