 BONNIE LISS

Bonnie was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated from Miami-Dade Community College with a AA degree and Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia with a BFA degree, triple major in Painting, Printmaking and Art Education.

While going to college she worked full-time as an Art Director at Orenstein Advertising.

She later lived in the Berkshires in Massachusetts and worked as a graphic artist.

In 1983 she moved to Winter Haven, Florida and opened Phoenix Graphics. Referrals helped grow the business from local to statewide, nationwide and eventually worldwide. Her main services included book cover design, logo design and package design.

In 2006 she and her husband moved to an idyllic creekside property in Davenport. She established a monthly Polk County Plein Air Group and facilitates weekly Still Life and Portrait Studios.

Bonnie retired in 2021 and paints full time in her studio. She enjoys painting oversized portraits of friends and family, landscapes and still lifes with sentimental meanings.

Bonnie has won several awards for her gouache, oil paintings and sculpture in various shows throughout central Florida. She has had a one person show at Church Street Station in Orlando, been interviewed in numerous Florida newspapers and is published in a hardcover boxed set of prints called “Vantage Point Group Edition“.

Bonnie Liss has been on the advisory board of many of the local colleges and is a member of Ridge Art Association, Davenport Arts and Cultural Alliance and the Davenport Historical Society.
