In this class series, the painting will be based on a student-provided image. Students will bring their own 8 x 10 image in either a laminated or in a protective transparent sleeve.
Past students may also bring in unfinished work from prior classes in addition to a new image. We will discuss your approach to the new painting and prep canvases the first night. There should be additional time to work on prior pieces. New students will be given a 'practice piece'.
Your image can be of a person, animal, still life or landscape.
You will have a choice of tracing the image on an 8 x 10 canvas or drawing on a larger 16 x 20 canvas.
To better understand color mixing and theories and values the students will work with a limited palette of four colors plus white. Occasionally an additional color may be introduced by the instructor.
Students will to learn how to evaluate their own paintings as they move through the painting process and how to correct errors. Value (Dark/Light) and correct drawing is emphasized!
Paint, brushes, canvases and mediums will be provided.

Students Will Need to Bring:

One roll of paper towels

One soft light colored or white rag

Two clean baby food size glass jars with lids (if possible)

Handful of Q-Tips

Two pieces of stiff cardboard 9” x 12”

Classes are held at SAC/Sebring Art Center - 1985 Lakeview Drive, Sebring FL 33870. Please enter the building using the red door to the far left.
After completion of this course, check our web site frequently for newly released classes.
Additional Art Link Studio time is complimentary with a HAL Membership. The open studio is held on Tuesday from 10am – noon in SAC/Sebring Art Center. Members should enter the building using the red door on the left.
