ART UNCORKED (Ages 21+):

If you haven’t tried an Art UnCorked class yet, ask your friends – they’ll tell you what you are missing!  HAL offers this wildly popular concept to non-artists and artists alike. With our Art UnCorked series, you’ll complete a project in one evening and enjoy a fun, laid-back evening of creativity with wine and light snacks offered.  Paint, sculpt, craft along with our artists, or pick your own variation to match your unique style. Join us for an open Art UnCorked session or let us arrange a private party for your group of ten or more. We also offer private parties for groups of five (5) or more – where you work with the artists to pick the painting or project – and enjoy the fun and enjoyment of a private session with our professional artists and crafters!

NOVEMBER Classes 

Stringing Art Along 

Come join Artist Beverly Marshall for this upbeat entertaining and artfully unique opportunity to test your skills at creating a new “mix” of art and play!  String art mixes paint with other ordinary objects to create unique designs and beautiful takes on use of color.  Nothing needed for this class but your imagination and willingness to get a little bit messy and a whole lot creative!

Stand Tall AGAINST Breast Cancer

In October, we wear PINK to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Make sure to wear all PINK and join Artist Instructor, Judy Gerber, for an evening of fun at the Highlands Art League while painting STAND TALL AGAINST BREAST CANCER FLAMINGO while sipping and snacking! This is a special Art UnCorked because part of the proceeds from this class will go to another wonderful non-profit in Highlands County, Knotty Girl (www.KnottyGirl.org).

AUGUST CLASSES

Acrylic Pour Painting with Artist, Loretta DeWitt

Learn how to create a beautiful painting without the use of a paintbrush!  Acrylic Pour Painting combines colors into abstract patterns on the canvas.  It’s a lot of fun and exciting to see the colors come together!  It takes several days for the paint to dry so a pickup date will be announced for the following week.  An optional frame may be purchased for an additional $10 the evening of the class.

Sunset on Lake Jackson

Join artist Tina Edgley for an evening of painting, wine and hors d’oeuvre tasting while looking out on the sunset spilled across Lake Jackson while capturing it on canvas. If you’ve always loved the view across a lake lit by the falling sun, or are looking for a low-key way to unwind after a busy week, painting something that takes away your stress while adding a personal touch to your decor, then this is the class for you.

A Little Music, A Little Wine

Join artist Judy Nicewicz as she returns to HAL for a bit of painting off canvas. For this session, Judy will be taking would-be painters through painting on glass – a perfect pair of wine glasses to be exact. Join the artist as you listen to a little light music, enjoy light refreshments and wine or beverage of choice, and paint your way into the new year.

New Year, New You Bling


Come join Barb Hall and Nancy Palmer for some New Year Bling, an evening of creating a handmade piece of wearable art with a sparkle for your new year accessorizing.  A fun night of simple jewelry making, wine or beverage of choice, and snacking while completing wearable, fashionable art! You provide the new year resolution; HAL provides the rest.

Saturday Night Uncorked

Artist Beverly Marshall is working on a series of classes for the new year to be held every Saturday, 5 – 7 p.m. beginning January 18.  Jump into a new year of creating art on canvas, meant to delight, impress, and just for fun. Winter birds are numerous, but it’s the Cardinal that amateur bird watchers and seasoned ornithologists, like everyone enjoys watching for in winter. Colorful and musical, this lively and popular songbird won’t leave home just because it gets a little cold down South. Capture this winter favorite in an evening class with artist Beverly Marshall, an internationally recognized local artist. Guests paint while enjoying HAL’s wine, hot chocolate, and a selection of treats.

Artfully Yours

In artist Judy Nicewicz’s second Art Uncorked for January, your painting off canvas adventure will take you into creating art on another small surface.  For this session, Judy will be taking would-be painters through painting on ceramic tile.  This small piece is perfect for finishing as a gift or keepsake to plant that wine glass, created in the last session on. You provide the fun, while HAL provides expert instruction, all supplies, and light refreshments/beverages.

Wooden Furniture Art

Join artist Judy Nicewicz’s final January session, students will be creating the perfect usable conversation piece.  Bring your own wooden tray table or small wooden furniture piece ( ready to paint.  As always HAL provides the expert art instruction, paint, brushes, a paint smock for your use, and light refreshments, including wine.

Art Corked: Gigi & Me

There is a special bond between grandparents and their grandchildren. They care for them as much as they did their own children and often, it can feel like they’re getting to live out the best parts of that parenting thing all over again. Less guilt and responsibility, and more perspective on just how quick childhood flies by (and how much you really need to soak them up while you still can).  Join HAL’s guest artist for this new quarterly offering, inviting grandmothers and their special someone to spend a magical time together, creating side-by-side paintings meant to delight and capture a moment in time. Snacks and a special themed drink provided, along with all supplies and expert instruction. Moms are also welcomed to join in the fun.

Snowy Blue Nights

Artist Beverly Marshall has come up with the perfect way to wrap up the month and 2019 with a painting that is designed to make you rekindle or discover for the first time that feeling of looking out across a pond of a quiet snowy night in the north – quiet, serene and reflecting the mood of the season . Rock, Rattle and Roll Series – Painting to the Oldies

   

In this 2-hour session with artist Beverly Marshall, you and your friends will get back into the groove of your favorite decade(s) as you listen to the music of the era, drink your beverage of choice (age appropriate), have some snacks (both provided by HAL) and join in the fun of painting an icon from Rock and Roll history. No matter if you were a twist and shout teenager of the 50’s, loved those mellow tunes of the Boys from Britain, grooved to the beat of Bowie, or dreamed of your own Little Red Corvette while cruising to the sounds of Prince, you’ll find something fun and interesting about this twist on the old classic Art Uncorked classes. Pick one or come to all (pricing is per session). Want to have even more fun? Join others as they vie for class favorite by dressing “as you were” or might have been back in the day for the decade you’re revisiting on canvas. Weekly winners will receive a gift certificate for $20, good toward your next class.  Grab your friends, family and come rock, rattle and roll at HAL!

Back by popular request, come spend an evening with artist and graphic designer Kristy Harris as she teaches a very customization-friendly take on this Art Uncorked favorite, Flying Monkeys. Tuesday, October 1 and 8, 6- 8 p.m. Scrappy Sculpture

Back by popular demand,  HAL’s Barb Hall and Nancy Palmer invite you to take a new take on Art Uncorked. Come put your stamp on autumn decor by creating a draped concrete pot out of an old towel, favorite worn-out sweatshirt or T-shirt, or flannel blanket. Add a little color, and finish it off with selecting a plant that says “fall-a-daysl” to adorn your patio or front step. Bring your friends, and we’ll provide the textiles, cement, water, form, instruction, colors, refreshments, and fun. Week one will be spent ‘playing in mud’ as you sculpt your pot, then you’ll  return the next week to paint your masterpiece. If you loved making mud pies or a mess when you were small, you’ll love this little bit of creative fun getting “artsy”.

While Art Uncorked is an opportunity to get together with your adult friends and family members to have fun creating art while enjoying adult beverages, we don’t want those younger than 21 or those who abstain from enjoying an alcohol-free Art experience. March Madness

Mad as a Hatter, join HAL in March by adding your own bit of artful adventure by gathering five or more friends for wine, light hors d’oeuvres and the fun of creating art with our pros. From entryway signs to a bit of bling, artful wall decor that will spring you into the season or bunnylicious decor, HAL will build an event especially for you.
