The Visual Art Center (VAC) was the second building restored. Formerly the Magnolia Village Restaurant and the home of Grayce McCoy, this is the location of adult and child classes in an array of different artistic disciplines – from painting to pottery. Located right on Lake Jackson, the building has superb views of the sunset through windows that also provide just the right light for painting and drawing classes. Local artists give ongoing classes and workshops and visiting artists bring a following to classes as well.
There is a wonderful outdoor space between the three buildings with a paved circular drive, a central fountain and lush green grass. The waterfront on Lake Jackson is another area utilized for special events. Recently these spaces have been shared with other local non-profit organizations at no charge for family days, outdoor movies and more.
